Web Site Design

A website, today, is no less than a place to direct clients to for more information about you and your business. Only so much can fit on a business card. That should have your contact information on it, and a reason to contact you and your business. A website can go into so much detail, and provide content, any time and all the time. It lets the client become more informed before contacting you. It can even allow the client to buy from you, without even directly contacting you! It can be bland or flamboyant.

Sugarloaf PC maintains its own web site. Since we put our attention into our clients, it sometimes gets a little out of date. If you are interested in having a page (or site) created, feel free to contact us.

We create web sites. But, we don't host them. There is a difference between web site creation and web site hosting. After creating a web site, it needs to be hosted to be accessible on the Internet. We will help you find a web site host that meets your needs. If you have broadband Internet (DSL or cable modem), your provider most likely allows a small space for you.

The purpose of a web site is often misunderstood. Consider these viewpoints before having a web site created:

  • The dynamics of websites allow for frequent changes and modification.
  • It is easy to allow a site to become stale. Keep a site up to date.
  • Even if the data doesn't change, changing the look often gives a site new life.
  • A successful web site does not have to be large or complex... Just concise.
  • Graphics and sound files take up a lot of space. Text takes up very little.
  • Web sites typically don't announce themselves. Just because you have a web site, that doesn't mean anyone knows it exists. Other means of advertising should be considered to draw attention to your site. Announce in your voice message. Include it in your correspondence and business card.
  • Word-of-mouth and local publications are the best advertisement for a small business based on local clientele.
  • Web site hosting does not have to be through a local facility. Anywhere in your country will be sufficient. The Internet is mostly non-geographic.
